The 1st rest day of this years TDF has fallen on Monday 16 July 2007. After 8 days of racing you’d think it’s time for the gents to have a "Rest Day" spend an hour or two on the bike to get the legs turning over and then  a good rub down and put you’re feet up.

The following interviews with Jens And Cadel show that a rest day for a pro cyclinst in the TDF is not a rest day at all with Press and other commitments that see the day chewed up and not must time with the legs up doing nothing.

Yes the TDF fever has hit the mountains. It was a black day for the Aussies in the field with Rogers, O’Grady and well I personally don’t care the about Mc Ewen. After a week of tearing along the flats with CSC in yellow (CSC rocks) the gents have hit the mountains and the GC will start to take shape. It’s all starting to take shape!

Cadel:
Cadel is still in the running sitting in 6th. After reading an article where Cadel said he can’t attack as he’s a marked man in the Pelton. After watching Stage 8 I think Cadel is sitting in a good spot and riding with the world’s best. The attacks went to Cadel covered all but Mayo. mayo was on a mission along with Rasmessan on the day. Limiting the losses and moving up to 6th is a great start to theAlps and with two TT’s to come and thousands of km’s to cover Cadel is looking good.

O’Grady:
This is a sad day for me. After hearing the news on the highlights package this morning that O’Grady was out of the TDF I just sank into my chair in despair.  O’Grady is one of the strong men in the CSC team this year. And hit heading off to hospital in an Ambo has left The Aussie attack on the TDF with a large whole in it.

Rogers:
What happen Mike. NNOOOOOOO! Sorry Cadel but Mike you where my pick for yellow and to bring the jersey home to Oz for us. I’m still in shock on hearing that Rogers has pulled the pin. At only 27 I know he’ll be back a wiser and stronger rider after what happened on Stage 8 this year.

Mc Ewen:
Mc Ewen who finished “outside the time limit”. Tough day in the office for Robbie and with injuries from Stage 1 Robbie’s TDF is over for 2007. I’m sure there are a few more Green Jersey’s for him next year.
