Cadel wears the Yellow

Cadel Evans became the fifth Australian to claim the Tour de France leader’s yellow jersey after finishing eighth in the 10th stage in the Pyrenees. It’s a proud day (well early morning for us in Oz) to see this humble Australian take the Yellow Jersey.

As the huge Cadel fan that I am… if following Cadel was a religion I would be the Pope! This time Cadel is riding in the “Coppi e Bartali” in Italy and has taken out Stage 3 and now leading the GC. The 189km from “Scandiano to Pavullo” stage has seen Cadel rise into the lead and with two stages remaining it might be a small victory in the lead up to Le Tour.

Now as I can find no website for this 5 day event I’m going off details from cyclingnews.com which is very little.

All Hail Cadel.

As predicted, it looks like Stage 4 of the Paris Nice has played out to be the stage to watch. This morning it’s all about Cadel Evans on cyclingnews.com and other related sites. I had hoped but didn’t post it in my Paris Nice 2008 that Cadel would take the line honours on the stage from Montélimar to Station du Mont Serein Mont Ventoux.

It turns out that the Mont Ventoux climb is the first big test for the climbers in the 2008 season. It’s looking good for Cadel having tested his legs and taking the days win.

Cadel watch Part 5

Cadel Evans is up and running for the year. He has taken out the 2nd stage in the Vuelta a Andalucía tough day in the saddle after torrential rain and bad weather throughout both the first two days in the race. Looks like Cadel is happy with his pre-season training and managed to pay back his team mates who worked for him in today’s stage.

Cadel now sits in 3rd 2.23mins behind Clément Lhotellerie (Fra) from team Skil-Shimano  and Pablo Garcia (Spa)  of team Caisse d’Epargne. With only 3 stages left in the five day event it’ll be interesting to see how the race pans out for Cadel.

On the U.S front the AMGEN’S 2008 TOUR OF CALIFORNIA

TOC Is looking good for team CSC now that they have Juan Jose Haedo (CSC) took today’s stage. I have to give the Tour of California’s website a huge wrap, it’s great to be able to watch the videos streams of the days stages. Cancellara is still in the lead, Looks like Karl Menzies had a tough day in the office and finish off the lead group.

Best source of information on the Ruta del Sol is from Cadel’s site, at least it’s in English. There is very little information coming from the usual sources on this race.
